  • 450 g chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 65 g cornstarch
  • 80 ml veggie or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 50 g sugar
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 8 dried chilis (Chinese style)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix broth, vinegars, soy sauces, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Marinate chicken pieces with salt and oil for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Coat marinated chicken with beaten egg and cornstarch.

  5. Sauté garlic, ginger, and dried chilis until fragrant.
  6. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet; stir until thickened.
