  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 can chili beans
  • 46 oz tomato juice
  • 4 oz spaghetti (broken into thirds)
  • 12 Tbs. mild chili powder
  • 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. each kosher salt and pepper
  • Cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)
  • shredded cheddar, corn chips, and sour cream, for garnishing the chili as desired

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef while breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  2. Stir in chili powder, salt, and pepper to coat the meat. Then add chili beans, tomato juice, and granulated sugar; mix well.
  3. Bring to a boil before adding broken spaghetti. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 15 minutes until pasta is cooked through.
  4. Ladle into bowls and serve hot with garnishes like shredded cheddar cheese or corn chips alongside warm cinnamon rolls.
