Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 3/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary leaves for topping
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Stir in olive oil and salt.
  2. Gradually add flour while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and transfer it to an oiled baking sheet, pressing out into a rectangle.
  5. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes before drizzling with more olive oil.
  6. Press rosemary leaves into the dough surface and sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before slicing.
