  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter; stir until sticky dough forms.
  3. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut into squares or triangles.
  7. Fry dough pieces in hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown; remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar while warm.
